Wisconsin

The state of Wisconsin has a policy of approval to do business in the state.

It may involve the approval of every and any model number that a company would make available for sale. This means a fee may apply to each and every drinking water and reverse osmosis system, no matter their similarity. Not to mention all the other EWS, CWL, iron removal, softeners, and all filter and media replacements.

EWS, Inc. produces a quality line of product from sink to whole home. We never cut corners on cost or quality in order to be available at "big box" locations or wide distribution, where the price is the only factor or measure of value. EWS, Inc. does not do business in this manner and our distribution throughout the country is more selective and precise, establishing a relationship of information to our distributors and their consumers alike. Therefore, upon evaluation of the cost and time involved, and the anticipated benefits, this approval process involves too much time and money to justify our development of distribution in the state.

At this time, EWS, Inc. has decided not to proceed with this process of approval and regretfully declines any request for product shipped into the state. EWS, Inc. will adhere to Wisconsin's policies and procedures. EWS, Inc. will evaluate and reconsider this decision, in time, as demand by distributors and consumers grow.

Any product on display or in inventory in the state will be removed. No orders with a Wisconsin ship to address will be accepted by EWS through any distribution channels. Any product manuals, literature or any form of information on EWS product will not be available to anyone within the state. If any materials are found unknowingly in the state, they will be deemed simply as information a consumer has acquired and will not be seen as solicitation.

We assume to some degree, that this policy has its pros and cons, and may serve to narrow consumer choices, and limit creativity, innovation and competitive quality often found in smaller companies. Consumers in the state are constantly besieged by the local water dealer offering up nothing more then the next softener and RO, regardless of water condition. So much so, that now everyone believes they need one. A "marketing" technique is to tell the people a lie often enough so that they will believe it as the truth.

Local water dealers test people's well water of unknown quality for nothing more than naturally found minerals and then suggest the obligitory softener and RO. The consumer has no real idea of the quality of their water. This is unethical. We have sent distilled water out for testing, and the answer comes back the same - softener and RO. The same product, by the way, has been banned and/or restricted for their environmental hazards and waste water in many areas throughtout the US. Europe requires at least 10-15 grains of hardness in the water to prevent corrosion in pipes and delivery systems. We could go on and on.... We just assume the state would know this, especially with water quality, waste water treatment, ground water, and septic issues. We assume there are those to protect, even though it may not be the people of the state.

Just a note: Every single item included in any of our products meets or exceeds the appropriate FDA, EPA and/or NSF protocol and/or compliance for that item, piece or part without exception.

There is nothing to hide, EWS product is available through Kitchen & Bath Showrooms and Building and Plumbing Supply throughout the United States. We just will not pay, at this time, to play in Wisconsin.

Thank you,
Management
